Holemasters would like to congratulate Jim McArthur, Garry Taylor, David McArthur and Kevin Arnot in having achieved their SVQ level 4 in construction site management.

This qualification was gained through the modern apprenticeship route it required the delegates to develop, implement and gather 52 pieces of evidence which could be cross referenced to the performance criteria in each of the units.

Due to the current work load it was extremely difficult to spend time during normal working hours to facilitate and a large amount was done in their personal time when all others had left for the day. It is a credit to these individuals who understand that continued personal development and qualification is key to a successful career.

Well done.

Holemasters (Scotland) are pleased to inform that we have recently passed ‘Achilles (Building Confidence)’.

This accreditation recognises the high standards of Health and Safety and Environmental issues along with a high standard in Quality Service.

This accreditation was achieved by Holemasters through a series of online PQQ’s and external verification by an Achilles Auditor.

Holemasters passed with flying colours and are now in a very small minority of companies who have been able to achieve this award

Holemasters recently completed a job for one of our clients, Arthur McKay Ltd.

The task? This was no easy job! Drilling in Register House, part of the National Archives!

Extra special care and attention had to be used as we used diamond drilling methods to drill in this very sensitive environment.

As you can imagine, any sort of work in this environment needs to be taken very carefully.

When our contracts manager went to the site on a site visit he knew that our drillers, Jim Dodds Sr. and Rab Baird, two of our most experienced drillers, were the men for the job.

Having completed this job in good time and to a fantastic standard our men headed home but the site agent was that impressed with the works carried out he thought an email back to the office was needed.

Below is the email that we wanted to share.

 “Hi Stan Hope this finds you well.. I just wanted to drop you a line about the lads you sent out to the West Register House Job, over the last couple of days.

 It is not often that you get credit when credit's due these days and thought I'd pass on some feedback.

They did a great job, were helpful, courteous, clean & tidy, and above all got the job done quickly and with no fuss

You said, I thought in jest, when you surveyed the job, that you'd be sending out a couple of superstars to take care of me, and you didn't disappoint. I'm delighted Stan, so thanks.”

Over the past few years Holemasters® has been a sponsor of a kid’s football team, Monklands United. We have been very proud to help and support this local children’s team by supplying new tracksuits, strips, bags – the lot! And next season will be no acceptation!

The club do fund raising events throughout the year to help support the team. At the end of the season the coaches, parents and helpers of the team put on a fund raising and trophy night! This includes all family members getting together to buy raffle tickets, join in competitions and bid the highest for football strips signed by top professional players.

This year’s event had much success, not only did the boys receive their well-deserved trophy’s the club also fund raised over £1300!!!

Adele Friend, whose husband Graham is one of the coaches and son Scott is one of the players, said “This has been a fantastic night, we raised over £1300 and it has been the biggest amount of money we have taken”

The trophies were given out by Director Jim McArthur and Jim and the coaches had a surprise for everyone at the end of the presentation by revealing a brand new strip for the boys for the next season, supplied by team sponsors Holemasters®!

Not only did the boys get a trophy the team presented the coaches and Jim a trophy for their support and dedication.

Holemasters Scotland would like to announce the purchase of a new Xcalibur Neptune trailer rig.

The trailer rig is a self contained towable hydraulically driven diamond drill, for taking core samples in roads and runways.

Weighing only 960kg makes it easily towed, manovered and operated by just one person. The rig also comes complete with a new positioning feature that allows the operator to control the rig from a switch. This then allows the rig to be moved and positioned more safely without the risk of injury from manual handling

Holemasters are pleased to announce that we have officially moved from our site in Bathgate to our new site in Chapelhall !

Chapelhall is a village outside the town of Airdrie in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Chapelhall is well situated just off the M8 motorway 13 miles east of Glasgow city centre and around 33 miles west of Edinburgh.

We hope that this move will benefit Chapelhall, Airdrie and residents of North Lanarkshire with more local jobs being created. We also hope that it will give Holemasters a fresh new look, with a private car park for visitors and a warming reception area. The new site also has five purpose built offices and a large workshop area.
